Grand Cayman

i have spent the last week and some in Grand Cayman.

i didn't think i would like it too much. The usual too hot and boaring
tropical place, but much to my surprise i found the climate very nice and
the se was so nice to swim in . i have mostly just been relaxing here on the
beach…walking up and down the beach or swimming .

we had a trip up to the turtle farm which was very cool you get to see a lot
of huge turtles , and you even get to eat them at the restraunt at the end .
i tried the turtle stew ,it was very yummy until i got apiece of turtle
grizzle that had some skin on it it nearly made me vomit …in fact i heaved
a few times

Also went to Rum Point , a sand bar and beach. a very nice beach day …but
no real point going there its a long drive there are lots of people and when
your condo is on 7 miles beach there is no point as 7mile is a very very
nice beach.

there is 4 more days until i go back home , i am kind of looking forward to
it but am also enjoying being here so far .

Last Day In Toronto

After the thrill of the opera i had a little time to wander around
Toronto and get some pics . I have been lucky enough to have some
great weather clear blue skies but cold .
So with te clear skies i decided to head up the CN tower, my previous
trip here i didnt have chance to go up so with the only thing on the
agenda today being a dinner at the toula restraunt i had plenty of
time to go out and take a few pictures.

At the CN tower i opted to go all the way and got the ticket including
the trip u to the highest platform called the sky pod, it was an extra
7 dolars … Was it worth it? Well i unfortunatly have to say no! The
first platform is awesome and gives great views of the city albeit
through glass . There is even a restraunt up there , but the second
platform (sky pod) was no better really .
I was a little dissapointed that there was no unhindered view to take
pictures … When inside you are behind glass and when you go on the
outside platform understandably there is cage all around. In
conclusion if you are visiting Toronto make sure you do the CN tower.

Carmen in Toronto

I am avoiding the madness thats is olympic Vancouver with a trip to
Grand Cayman but with a stop over for a few days in Toronto. Looking
for things to do whilst here i found that Carmen was playing at the
Four Seasons opera house having never been to an opera before but
enjoying the music of Carmen so much so that i have the CD i thought i
should book tickets to see it.

Upon arriving in Toronto one particular thing stood out …..boy is it
cold here . With the inhabitants telling me how mild this winter has
been i am sure glad i came on a "mild winter".

I have to say i have much love for Toronto it is an awesome world
class city every bit as exciting as other world cities but with a very
canadian feel.

Back to the opera ! It was a great experiance and a great opera . I
think the Carmen had been switched because i thought the micaela was a
stronger singer. For me it being my first opera i didnt know what to
expect so i was sure happy to find that it had english sub titles. I
was amazed at the symphony and the tecnicalites of how it was all put
together. The set design was oustanding i just couldnt figure out how
the did the changes so fast especialy for the las act at the bull
fight.

Toronto rocks and real estate is cheap …..so you never know lol

2010 so far

A lot has happened since my last post …which usualy happens when it
has been so long since last time.

I have been getting used to my phone (n95 mini) . I like it though it
does have some quirks. Iam still not a fan of the touch screen.. Well
just touch screens in general, but iam loving the keyboard in fact so
much so that i am writting this post on it right now.

Besides the phone i took delivery of my new truck the 2010 Toyota
4runner Trail Edition. I was a little concerned about the ground
clearance on it , at around 9" it just didn't seem enough but after
reading about its entry and exit angles and watching a video on
youtube of it on the Rubicon trail i said why not.
I did take it on a little trial test and i have to say the suspension
on it is unbelievably good. Speed bumps are no problem around town. It
also has some great features like bluetooth with streaming audio … I
can listen to my mp3 music.
It seems so comfortable on and off road . Though with it being a new
model after market accesories are hard to come by, i am having some
nicer wheels fitted after finding the factory ones hard to clean
baisically meaning i had to get on my knees and rub the dirt from
inbetween the holes ….ok i am lazy.

What else has happened?
A hawaii trip over the holiday . And i am getting ready to leave for
Grand Cayman to avoid the olympic madness which is screwing up the
city with road closures and parks being paved….so much tax money
screwing up public areas.
The weather here has been very mild this winter probably because it is
an el nino year. But the city has plans and is bringing in snow from
further inland for the games.

Here are some pictues from the past few months.
